Products such as Zinsser B-I-N and Cover Stain may be used to seal exposed wood, knots, tannin bleed, water stains, smoke or pet odors, and other problem areas that could otherwise show through the finished paint.

Zinsser products are particularly valuable when preparing older Maine homes, where weathered wood, staining, previous coatings, and bleeding nails often require more than a standard primer.
